The dark is one of the most enlightening aspects of a spiritual pathway.
The dark has the potential to both awaken, and destroy, simultaneously. When we are consumed by the darkness we often struggle to self-heal, however when we are surrounded by the darkness, the void can be one of the most sacred and healing spaces.
The real problem is that the dark is something which a lot of people are afraid of.
Or they deny the existence of it.
Or they only recognise it’s something which is other, to themselves.
If you are afraid of the dark, know that you will find nothing in the depths of the darkness that you have not created yourself…
Your interpretation of a demonic presence is the demon that you will find.
The intrusion of the entities will be from those you open the door to.
Your fear of what lurks in the darkness is simply the fear of the hidden parts of yourself.
The parts you don’t want anyone to know about.
The parts that do not want to be discovered.
The parts that don’t want you to know about them!
These are the same parts that block your healing journey. The same insidious energy that disempowers you with the belief that the dark is something to fear. The same energy which prevents you from taking the step in your journey, often appears in thoughts at first, the consideration of your energy environment and who you are surrounding yourself with. Have you ever told yourself that the answer to avoiding energy intrusions is to simply eliminate other people from your life?
Whilst it may be true that we certainly pick up a lot of energy attachments and intrusions from our interactions with others, we must still acknowledge the dark energy within the self.
For it is this energy which vibrates inside of you, which calls to the dark energy around you, as the dear friend it knows so well.
The attachment which is using you as its host, creating false narratives and belief systems to prevent the deeper connection within, will keep you on the journey outward.
The constant search for someone or something to heal you. As if healing is a journey with a beginning, middle end and once you have done your healing, your work is done, and you will spend the rest of your life in the light.
So how do we work with the dark energy within?
We must get to know it really well.
The age old saying of keep your friends close and your enemies closer is a sound piece of advice. Knowing your energy inside and out. Knowing your true self makes it easy to decipher what is yours and what is not.
From this place it becomes easy to know when we have picked something up, or when another energy has attached.
We also must accept the dark as part of the self. To stop seeing the contrast as good and evil and begin to understand these parts of the self as simply, day and night.
Both equal. Both needed. Both welcome.
To walk a spiritual pathway, it is vital that we begin to learn how to be the home to both energies without letting either one consumes us.
To work with love and light, without acknowledging the dark, only serves to deny one of the greatest parts of the self.
